Pet Peeve

My biggest pet peeve is when people lie to me.  I've gone through a lot of different relationships where I've been lied to but i believed them when they lied to me because I only saw the good in the person.  I even had a best friend who lies to me all the time if she does something wrong just so i don't get mad at her. I think lying is just pointless because eventually the truth does come out. I’d rather someone fess up to something they did rather than lie about it. So saying all this you should always tell the truth!

Blog Post #1

In class today we talked about miscommunications and we went around and had everyone name a miscommunication they encountered.  Well I had a miscommunication once a long time ago when I went over to my Mom’s friend’s house who are Chinese and are very traditional.  We came over for dinner and had a great time.  At the end of the meal, my brother who was about 4 at the time asked if we could have ice cream.  My mom’s friend got a worried look on her face but said yes.  After waiting for about 15 minutes my brother, being the age he was at the time started throwing a fit.  My mom asked when the ice cream would be ready and my mom’s friend said she didn’t have any ice cream.  My mom was confused by this and later on figured out that Chinese people don’t like to tell someone no, and will say yes even if they don’t mean it.

Home

I am from family dinners, from backyard baseball
and movie nights
I am from a team of girls who become my sisters every season and share a love of soccer
I am from a football field , from blue and white
and friends cheering the Gull Lake name.
I am from Christmas lights, to home-made candy
to Sunday services to Scooter D's.
I am from the tire swing tied to the big oaks tree
swinging generations of my family back and forth, back and forth
I am from the boy I love that fills my world with laughs and smiles,
from little moments to butterflies inside.
I am from speed boats and fancy cars, from stuck up people
and gossip, from rumors and lies.
I am from hard work and motivation from the good times
and the bad that got me where I am today.

Introduction

My name's Kelsey Holdridge. I grew up in Kalamazoo and went to Gull Lake High School.  I've played soccer since I was five and played all four years of high school.  I also ran cross country for two years. I have one brother, his name is Landon and he's 14 years old and a freshman in high school.  I don't really like Western at all, I miss high school a lot.  I like to have fun, hang out with friends, shop, watch movies, and work out.
